AmFar Gala at the Cannes Film Festival

Even amongst the glitz and glitter of the Cannes Film festival, the AmFar gala is very special, the most glamorous occasion of them all. The annual gala that is held by the Foundation for Aids Research has become a part of the Cannes Calendar, and, for fans of gorgeous frocks being worn by the cream of Hollywood and the world’s top models, this is total candy for the eyes. This year all eyes were on Katy Perry. Now, I am not a fan of Katy’s style in general, can never understand how a woman so pretty can get it so wrong on so many occasions. But in a dramatic red…

Festival fashion with a difference from Coachella

Coachella is that festival that will all wish we could go to. Taking place every year, it is the festival that the celebrity fashionista’s love, the one with the glorious weather, the one with no mud, the one where you can actually wear white. It combines sunshine, music, great clothes, pool parties, celebrity launches and lots of glamour. Yes, it is the one festival you can enjoy even if you hate tents! We have the new queen of X Factor, and also Queen of Phase Eight, Sam Bailey, who flew the flag for women everywhere who just look for a chance to wear a beautiful gown. She positively blossomed before our eyes on X Factor, and every time her on-stage wardrobe featured Phase Eight, she won in the style stakes too. No wonder she is now adapting this for red carpet appearances, like at the Cosmopolitan Style Awards,…

From Mad Men silhouettes to sexy leather shifts, from colour blocking to colour contrasting, from pencil skirts to skater skirts, there seems to be a dress for everyone. Look 1 – Rosie Huntington Whiteley in Michael Kors Rosie totally rocked in a black leather shift dress from Michael Kors. Who knew leather could look so sophisticated? You could copy this look in the stunning Leather and suede panelled dress from Dorothy…

The Met Ball – Frocky Horrors.

The Met ball was a night of High Fashion, but for every beautiful dress, there was a frocky horror story happening. Bad clothes did happen to good people on the evening. Here are the stars who really should’ve looked in a mirror before they left the house that evening! Rihanna. She wore a long lace Stella McCartney dress that raised that tiresome question – is she or isn’t she wearing any knickers. The quick answer is – who cares? Everyone has been adopting this look lately, even Kate Winslet, and it’s getting rather boring. And as for the Rapunzel red plait…get a haircut Rihanna. Rosie Huntington Whiteley, officially the sexiest…
