New Look has spring dresses all sewn up

The lastest collection of dresses from New Look shows how the High Street brand is going from strength to strength. From flowing maxi styles, to cute TOWIE-esque skater dresses, New Look proves that this season, any length is allowed. But it is the midi dresses that really catch the eye. For so long this was a length that only the tallest and slimmest of ladies tackled, with a view that on anyone else, the midi was a frumpy option. We are now beginning to realise that this is wrong, and that, in the same way as the maxi dress can suit anyone providing the cut and style are correct for…

Uniqlo and Celia Birtwell – It’s here!

This is definitely one of the most anticipated High Street and designer collaborations ever. The legendary textile designer Celia Birtwell, the lady behind those iconic Ossie Clark prints, has collaborated with cool Japanese brand Uniqlo to create a series of pretty basics and much lusted over scarves and stoles. Taking those same iconic prints that once adorned the coolest of 1970s stars as the starting point, the prints have then been rescaled, recoloured and the reworked in order to make them fresh and irresistable for 2013. Sure to be a total sell out, and with models Portia Freeman and Charlotte Pallister fronting an eye-catching campaign, this is a collection you…

But this season, Evans is showing that the delicate fabric is actually a perfect choice for that strange, transitional period between Winter and Spring. Lace is a versatile fabric. In black and dark shades it looks decidedly gothic, but the nature of the fabric is delicate and light, therefore giving it a softer feel. Evans have added some soft grey and Emerald Green into the mix, as well as adding lace to everyday sweatshirts and denim shirts, again showing the wonderful versatility of this fabric. Here are…

Searching for the Perfect Spring Dress

For a few days at the end of last week, and the beginning of this, I got that Spring feeling. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. I was wearing a blazer rather than a heavy overcoat, and I had started to think about Summer, planning a holiday, musing about getting some tickets for a festival (I really fancy going to the Isle of Wight festival this year and combining it with a bit of a holiday for Hubby and Joe too),  and generally imagining myself spending copious amounts of time on a sun lounger drinking Pimms! I also started thinking about my wardrobe too, and in particular,…
