Style Icon of the month April – Emily Blunt
My choice for style icon for the month of April was a no-brainer. At a host of film premieres, and the Tribeca film festival, Emily Blunt just stood out from the sea of bodycon, micro-minied lovelies in a style that is almost a cross between that of Kate Middleton and Grace Kelly. With an exquisite collection of ladylike, calf length shift and prom style dresses. Unlike Kate Middleton though, Emily knows her designers. From red lace from Michael Kors, to my favourite, the wonderful yellow dress from Elie Saab, Emily has worn clothes with serious designer credentials. These are clothes that flatter her figure and body shape, whilst showing her…

Style icon of the month – January – Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is my face idol. This woman is so beautiful she could make Helen of Troy resemble Grotbags. Those eyes, those lips and that skin – she is just perfection. And every year, when the awards season starts, she shows she is also a picture of perfection in the style stakes too. Angelina’s style is classic. With the exception of her love for leather, she sticks to classic. simple styles that she accessories in minimal fashion. She knows her beauty requires little adornment, but with the possible exception of Kate Moss, no one rocks red lippie better than Angelina. January was a vintage month for Angelina watchers. Her crowning…

Style Icon of the Month September – Kate Moss
She’s been around what seems like forever, but she’s always in my heart when it comes to style, and this month, the newly married Kate Moss reappeared on the scene with a whole host of totally covetable looks, showing the young fashion upstarts that, when it comes to fashion and style, Kate still sets the bar pretty high. From high-octane glamour, to 1970s style double denim that seems to have been based on Anita Pallenburg at Nellcote 1972, Kate has worn a range of looks that have impressed. She has worn full length and fabulous gowns, little black cocktail dresses and even a jumpsuit once worn by Cheryl Cole, and…

Bethanie Mattek Sands – The lady Gaga of Wimbledon
Just when you thought you’d never hear Lady Gaga and Wimbledon mentioned in the same sentence, up popped Bethanie Mattek Sands. The American No 2 tennis player is the self-proclaimed Lady Gaga of tennis. And whilst she didn’t last that long in the championship, she certainly brightened the staid tournament up with her unique fashion sense. At the pre tournament bash, she sported an outfit that can only be described as interesting. In bright neon green, and with a matching headdress, Bethanie made sure all eyes were on her. Decorated with tennis balls, the dress was designed by Alex Noble, who has also designed clothes for…wait for it…Lady Gaga. Then,…

Style Icon of the Month – Fan Bing Bing
Fan Bing Bing is my nomination for style icon of the month after she wore a series of stunning looks at the Cannes film festival. I confess to not being that knowledgable about the lovely Chinese actress and singer, but what I do know is that every time she appears on the red carpet I gasp in astonishment. She always looks completely immaculate, perfectly groomed, and wears the most knock out outfits imaginable. This Cannes season she wore a series of beautiful looks from the likes of Oscar De La Renta, Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Atelier Versace. Beautiful hairstyles that mark Fan as the Queen of reinvention complimented each…
