Amy Winehouse.
I was devastated to hear about the tragic and untimely death of Amy Winehouse today at the far too young age of 27. I saw Amy perform live in 2007 and she was truly amazing – an iconic talent with a style and voice that was truly unique. Back to Black is my favourite album, one I listen to when happy(Tears dry on their own is so uplifting) or sad (is there a more poignant song than Love is a loosing game?). I followed Amy’s story in the hope that it might have a happy ending, but it was not to be. It would be easy to remember the dishevelled…

Kate’s dress is on show – but Queen calls display horrid!
The press got their first view of the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress today when the Sarah Burton design went on display in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace, but although the beauty of the dress and the rest of display pleased most spectators, it seems the Queen wasn’t particularly pleased, calling the staging of the dress ‘Horrid’ . The dress has been displayed on a headless mannequin, with the veil and Halo tiara sort of suspended in space, which the Queen expressed as being creepy! Kate, who was viewing the dress with the Queen was more tactful, saying it was displayed to show a 3D effect. Kate looked fabulous…

Terry Di Haviland – The Rock & Roll Cobbler celebrates 50 years in shoe business.
The self-styled Rock & Roll Cobbler is celebrating 50 years in the business with a special pop-up exhibition in London’s Selfridges. I have been a fan of Terry ever since I saw a glossy and groomed Kate Moss wearing his wedges on one of her famous birthday celebrations. I fell instantly in love with the shoes, but not being able to afford the £300+ pricetag, I searched the High Street for…

That glorious Sarah Burton creation that made us all gasp at its beauty on the April day. Yes, Fashion-Mommy is off to see the Duchess of Cambridge‘s wedding dress. The dress, along with the veil, Halo tiara and shoes, is going to be the star attraction when Buckingham Palace opens its doors to the public on July 23rd for its annual summer opening. Kate’s Robinson Pelham earrings, a wedding day gift from her parents, will also be on display, along with a special film showing Sarah Burton…

Dalia MacPhee brings beautiful and ethical gowns to the red carpet.
It is a real pity that Kate Middleton didn’t attend a real red carpet event during her recent tour of Canada, because there was the perfect designer waiting in the wings to produce a super showstopper dress. Vancouver born Dalia MacPhee has started to make quite a splash across the pond with her stunning collections of evening dresses that range from fabulously frothy cocktail styles to dramatic full length affairs. There are just so many things to love about Dalia’s dresses. She uses a stunning spectrum of colours and fabrics to create dresses that hark back to the golden age of Hollywood, when movie stars really looked like movie stars.…
