Pink and blue floral pleated dress from Yours Clothing
I think it is true that most of us have comfort zones when it comes to clothing. There are just things that we gravitate to, we feel comfortable wearing certain things, and they become an easy option. But sometimes we see an item that we just fall in love with, even though it may not be something we would usually choose. That is how I felt about the Pink and Blue floral pleated dress from Yours Clothing. It has to be said this is not the sort of dress that I would normally choose, mainly because it is strapless. I always worry about strapless dresses – I have a big bust…

Reviewed – Aqua Sphere Seal Kid 2 Swimmask
My little boy Joe has been having swimming lessons for almost a year now, and has just won his second swimming badge (proud mommy moment!) He’s also reaching that age when he desperately wants to wear swimming goggles for his lessons, but I have to admit I have a real problem with this, for a good many reasons. I am not a fan of general swimming goggles, they are often cheaply made and ill fitting. They often suffer for being far too tight on your child’s face, or not tight enough and therefore letting water in. Hard to adjust and not comfortable to wear, I have found swim goggles to…

Friday Fashion – My Joules Summer Wishlist
I’m a huge fan of British brand Joules, which is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. The sort of Countryside chic, with elements of Land Girl style that Joules embodies, appeals to my sense of style. For me, Joules says Louella, Stella Tennent, The Queen at Sandringham in wellies and a headscarf, all mixed in with a bit of mud-soaked festival cool. Joules is typically British, and I love it for this. The current ranges are just gorgeous, so I have compiled a wish list of Joules items that I would love to have in my wardrobe this Summer. There are quirky printed summer dresses, including the Adrienne dress which…

#MorrisonsMums Bank Holiday challenge
The three bank holidays have to be my favourite part of Spring. Those extra family days and the chance to spend some quality time together (and have an extra lie-in!), all these treats are just part of the reason why Spring is fast becoming my favourite season. This Mayday bank holiday was given an extra fun twist when I was chosen to be a #MorrisonsMum, taking part in a special shopping and cooking challenge. Last Thursday (May 1st) Morrisons supermarket launched a new and cheaper Morrisons. Proclaiming that there would be no difference in the great quality choice and produce that customers expect from Morrisons, the supermarket had slashed the…

Summer essentials for a working wardrobe
With Joe now at school full-time, thoughts have turned to the possibility of returning to the world of employment. In my previous life I was a teacher, but with all the recent changes in education, I don’t think this is an area I would really want to go back into, I’d totally lost the zest for teaching by the time Joe came along, and don’t honestly think this is something that I would return to – ever. But the idea of doing something new, on a part-time basis, appeals, and the money would certainly come in handy. But what? With this in mind, I have recently joined City Calling, a…
