Brave the rain with cute rain boots
After a lovely dry Summer, and a fairly mild Autumn, it is safe to say that the rain has made an unwelcome appearance, making the school run a rather wet and uncomfortable experience. I live in a semi-rural area, where drains are prone to overflow, pavements are often covered in deep puddles, and the grassy verges turn to mud very quickly. In these situations, fashion goes out of the window, and I turn to the wellies. However, these days turning to Wellington’s doesn’t actually mean turning away from fashion and style. There are lots of really cute rain boots around, many of which can be found on a site called,…

The Liberty London Doc is back!
The wonderful Liberty London documentary is back, and once again it is a total treat for anyone with even a passing interest in department stores, shopping and the history of retail. That iconic, mock Tudor style building is always a place I love to visit when I’m in London, it always has amazing window displays and sells items that range from the iconic Liberty print scarves, to the weird and wonderful. My favourite star of the show (so far) has to be the truly lovely Judy Rose, the warm and funny front of house lady who gives the Liberty reception such a welcoming feel. Judy has put together her festive…

An evening with Westley Richards
Last Thursday saw the historical Gun company Westley Richards throw a very special evening, that offered guests a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the last surviving gun manufacturers in Birmingham’s proud and historic gun quarter. WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. has been making unique shotguns and rifles since they were founded in 1812. Today, they offer the most comprehensive range of bespoke shotguns and rifles by any single English maker. What is even more impressive is that every item is built in the Birmingham workshops by a team of highly skilled and enthusiastic craftsmen, many of whom started in Birmingham as young apprentices. The company stays true to the ethos…

Laptop skins from Case App
I was recently contacted by a Swedish Company called CaseApp who produce custom laptop skins and mobile phone cases. They wondered if I would be interested in reviewing one of their custom made products, and as I am the world’s worst at looking after my laptop, I thought this would be a great product to try out. My laptop was purchased last year, but after being used every day it is showing signs of wear and tear. I have snapped plastic on the corner of the lid after dropping it, and there are lots of scratches on the lid too. CaseApp has designs for a laptop skin, but I liked…

Embracing Faux Fur at Next this season
At the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time, I have to say I am not a fan of Winter. It is too cold, too dark and too miserable for me, I love light nights, warm days and sunshine. But one thing I do like about Winter is the way it is suddenly acceptable to add really fun, faux fur pieces into the wardrobe, with the mantra seeming to be ‘the brighter, the better.’ I took a little Christmas shopping trip with my mom and sister on Sunday, and mom treated me to a fabulous soft grey fun fur gilet from Next that I have had my eyes on…
