Currently Loving: Sew Lomax
Every so often, the postman delivers something to your door that makes you smile and smile. Something other than endless bills, or junk mail, or take-away menus. This is what happened to me the day a totally unexpected gift dropped onto my mat from Sew Lomax. Sew Lomax is the brainchild of gifted British designer Emma Lomax. Emma has designed a beautiful, hand crafted range of cosmetics bags, purses and baby accessories that can be personalised with hand embroidered names. Each item is hand finished, which means every single bag, purse or bib is unique. I have long since been a fan of Emma’s designs, which are gloriously girlie and…

Reviewed: Super Loop Bands
I hate loom bands! There’s a simple reason for this hatred which has nothing to do with finding them all over the floor, or clogging up the Hoover, or just appearing everywhere. The reason is I can’t actually make them. I tried with the loom, and failed miserably. I tried without the loom and kept snapping the band. With a five-year old boy who seemed to want a band in the colours of every premiership team, I was a total failure and a big disappointment. Another model, the newly wed Poppy Delavingne, looks just gorgeous…

Spooky style from Topshop
It’s a fact – Halloween dressing up is no longer just for the kids. These days, Halloween is a hot date on the social calender, with parties being gothically, glamorous occasions and the perfect excuse for donning the deepest of red lips, the blackest of Kohl and the slinkiest of dresses. I have never, as an adult, dressed up for Halloween. But all this is going to change this year. I’m going to a Halloween party for the first time in years, and have picked out a Morticia Adams style wig, a purple witches hat, and a gorgeous long black dress and boots for my witchy costume. For those who…

Fun on the School Run with Regatta
Walk to school month continues, and I can happily say that we are still enjoying all the new adventures we are finding to have along the way. For many children though, a walk to school is something that they never get chance to enjoy. Outdoor specialists Regatta have recently published the results of a survey they carried out looking at the school run. The results made interesting reading. Here are a few of the key results:- Despite almost half (47%) of British primary school children living within just one mile of the school gates, over a million1 have never walked to school. Walking to school has declined 62%2 over the…
