Christian Louboutin’s first ever nail colour hits Selfridges
Say the term iconic fashion designs, what springs to mind? Chanel’s Little black dress? Diane Von Furstenberg’s wrap dress? Vivienne Westwood’s pirate boots maybe? Or Gianni Versace and a certain safety pin dress? There is every likelihood that all the aforementioned designs are fully deserving of the term iconic, but no list of iconic designs would be complete without Christian Louboutin’s red soled heels. Christian Louboutin’s red-bottom colour is registered as Pantone 18-1663 TPX, and there is not a fashionista worth her salt who hasn’t paraded her feet in a pair of Christian’s now legendary heels. There are stories that say the original pair of heels were painted red with…

Laura Ashley New Season picks
For my latest look towards the upcoming Autumn/Winter season, I decided to turn to an iconic British brand, Laura Ashley. Laura Ashley first came to prominence in the 1960s, but it was the famous throwback styles of the 1970s, the dairy maid, Edwardian style cotton maxi dresses in cream and white, that really shot the brand to fashion immortality. The early 1970s was a time of fashion reflection, with the film ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ being very influential on the style of the era. Laura Ashley’s innocent look was perfectly evocative of the period the film was set in. Laura Ashley died in 1985, but her name lives on, with…

Reviewed – F&F Crepe Open Front Jacket
I have been looking for a perfect pink jacket for a long time. I love pink, it is one of my favourite colours, and one that does seem to suit my colouring since I have lightened my hair. But it is also a minefield when it comes to jackets. Get the cut and colour right and it will look chic and sophisticated. Get it wrong and you will look like a lesser known member of the royal family at a wedding, or, worse still, Anne Diamond in her TVAM days. Luckily, the lovely people at F&F stepped in and sent me a jacket that was definitely on the chic side,…
