Shoezone Lilley Patent Heeled Bar Shoe
The Autumn collection from Shoezone contains a pair of shoes that could’ve come straight for a vintage chest stored in granny’s attic. Black, buckled, patent with a dainty shaped heel, the Lilley patent heeled bar shoe is one of my favourite bargains of the new season, a pair of shoes you can wear anywhere – one which I am already living in. As I get older I find my heels are getting lower (with the exception of Westwood Melissa’s, and my shoe lust haves from Charlotte Olympia which continue to soar like skyscrapers). For daytime wear, or evening occasions where a lot of time will be spent standing up, my…

Preloved goods with Secondwow
For as long as I can remember I have had an obsession with finding second hand bargains. I have trawled vintage stores, car boot sales, charity shops, jumble sales and the internet for fabulous finds. I look for vintage clothing, gorgeous things for the home, Art Deco collectables and beautiful mirror compacts. Lately I have also been looking for retro football strips and Subbuteo sets for Joe. There are some great items waiting to be found out there, but it can also be difficult to find good quality pieces that are also in good condition. Secondwow is a new site which allows you to find a wide range of second…

Get gorgeous designer shoe style with Next
Ever seen the most amazing designer shoe, and then clocked the not so amazing price tag? Have you ever had your heart set on getting a beautiful pair of shoes for a very special occasion, then finding the ones you really want are just out of reach in terms of cost? I’m getting the distinct impression that the design team at Next have had similar problems, because so many shoes from their fabulous Autumn/Winter collection could well have come from the sketchpad of some of the shoe design masters. It seems that if you love your designer shoes without the designer pricetag, you need to step this way (to pardon…

A Grand Central John Lewis Focus
You would probably need to have been living on the moon or planet Mars not to know that last week was a very special one for Birmingham. Grand Central Birmingham had its official opening and is already proving to be a huge success, not least because of its amazing flaghip John Lewis store. I went along on Thursday to the opening and was just so impressed with how lovely it really is, and from the thousands of people who descended on the city last weekend, and the huge buzz you could feel everywhere, I guess I am not the only one. The John Lewis store is bright and vibrant, with…

Reviewed – The Becky Dress from Studio 8
A new fashion collection was launched in the Summer that had all plus size fashionistas clapping their hands with glee. Studio 8 is derived from Phase Eight, one of the most stylish brands on the High Street (and certainly one of my favourites) and it offers the same high quality design, stunning prints and fabrics, but now in sizes that go up to a size 24. The first collection offers everything from smart work wear, casual weekend pieces, and stunning evening wear and is just full of beautiful, wearable clothes. Studio 8 contacted me about reviewing the Becky dress. This is a beautiful piece, a slightly over the knee style,…
