Making a saving on the summer holiday wardrobe
As much as I love the physical activity of shopping, I find that these days I do it less and less. There are many reasons for this. The first is that I work from home during the week, and find it a little bit naughty to just take off on a shopping trip when I’m meant to be working. The second reason is, come the weekend, we do a lot of family activities, and my little boy Joe is most definitely shopping-phobic, so we tend to avoid shopping centres in the main and any shop that isn’t a sports or toy shop in general. Shopping in my past Now …

Glamour and heritage from Scotsburn Croft
I sometimes respond to Tweets looking for bloggers to review items. It’s a great way to get in touch and to discover a new brand that may not have been on your horizon before. I recently tweeted a company called Scotsburn Croft, and I can honestly say I have fallen in love with the craftmanship and heritage of their work. This is one company you must check out if you love your accessories to have class. Scotsburn Croft was founded in the Scottish Highlands by the seriously talented Clare Ferguson. She took her inspiration from growing up in the Highlands of Scotland, an area full of beautiful landscapes, real family…

Friday fashion focus – Yellow
When it comes to colour, there is one shade that I always move towards. Yellow is the colour of sunshine, custard, buttercups and dandelions, of pretty tea roses and Big Bird, and it is one of my favourite things. I love it in Winter when the days are short and dark, it just adds a little bit of sparkle to make everything seem a little brighter. In Spring and Summer, it just adds to the general mood lifting and frankly makes me feel a little bit happier. Celebs love yellow too. For fans of yellow, now is a great time to add a few more bright and beautiful pieces to…

Kimono Style Jackets from Gudrun Sjoden
In the way that the maxi skirt made a comeback and then never disappeared, the Kimono has had a real moment over the last few years. A traditional Japanese style jacket, the kimono was something that at one time you could only find on a trip overseas, or in a vintage shop. These days it is a key part of the wardrobe, giving an alternative to a jacket or cardigan, and proving to be a versatile piece of clothing that can be worn with jeans, over a little black dress, or even as a beach cover-up. Vive le Kimono! Gudrun Sjoden added kimono jackets to their Spring collection this year,…

New handbag lust list
Of all the fashion items you can buy, it is handbags that I have the biggest weakness for. I must have at least 200 now, and I can’t seem to part with any of them. I have some great designer buys from the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Michael Kors, Tods, Lulu Guinness, Mulberry and Marc Jacobs, along with lots of beautiful vintage clutches picked up in charity shops and flea markets, and plenty of High Street buys as well. The collection is stored under the bed, bursting out of cupboards, and is a constant source of moaning from the husband, but I still couldn’t bear to part with any of…
