Reviewed – Zebra Print Dress from Tu at Sainsburys
The next review in my series celebrating life beginning at 40 is from Tu, the range of clothes that are stocked in Sainsburys. I’ve been a fan of Tu for years, I believe they offer exceptionally good quality for a supermarket brand, with style very similar to Boden, but at a great budget price range. I really enjoyed looking at the current collection, which offered something a little different to the summer brights I have been wearing. Natural and neutral shades, with more than a nod towards the ‘Out of Africa’ and safari styles that always work so well in summer, make up an important part of this collection, with…

I can’t resist animal print shoes!
There was a time when I hated any sort of animal print with a passion. All it conjured up in my mind was tacky images of Bet Lynch behind the bar of the Rovers Return, resplendent in beehive and leopard print, closely followed by another corrie legend, Liz MacDonald, another classy, brassy looker. But those animal print hating days seem a long time ago now. These days I love any sort of animal print or skin. from leopard and cheetah, to zebra prints and even a little bit of snake. This has become the chicest of prints, whether you wear it in your clothing, or just keep it for shoes…

Style Icons – Imelda May’s Maternity Style
My second focus in my style icons series is the Queen of rockabilly, the incomparable Imelda May. Imelda, who channels vintage glamour and red lips at all times, didn’t let the little fact of being pregnant throughout most of the year dampen her style. She decided that pregnancy called for animal print…and lots of it. I adore Imelda, I love that she maintained her same high standards of glamour and sex appeal throughout her pregnancy, a time when many women feel it is OK to wear anything as long as you are comfortable. Like Imelda, I wanted to keep my usual style during pregnancy, but even four years ago when…

Wallis – It’s all about the Jackets
Autumn is the time when we relinquish our bare arms and the jackets come out in force. The weather isn’t actually freezing yet, but we need something that can banish that definite chill that lingers in the air. We basically need a jacket. Wallis has really come up trumps in the jacket department this season, with a range that takes in blazers, tuxedos and biker styles. But my favourite style this season is the waterfall jacket that has taken a step away from the block colour versions of past seasons, and has embraced pattern and print. I was asked to choose my favourite style, and had no hesitation in picking…

Peacocks new collection – Girl Meets Boy
Now we’ve waved goodbye to the Christmas day for another year, many of us will be thinking of the New Year’s collections. It is always great when we start to see something new and exciting hitting the rails, a mixture of new shades and trends. An email from Peacocks hit the inbox this morning that gave me a peek at their new season collection, entitled Girl meets Boy. This is a collection filled with extremes, from androgynous shirts to pretty skater style dresses. A smattering of animal print, and a must have waterfall draped jacket makes this a great capsule collection for you to admire and add to your wardrobe.…
