Strictly Come Dancing Live is back
The sparkles and sequins were all there, the glitter ball was back in place, and yet again, the Barclaycard Arena had put the chandeliers up. All this could only mean one thing, Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Show was back. Yesterday saw the press call for the most glamorous show around, with celebrity favourites and professional dancers giving press a sneak preview of what, once again, promises to be a fantastic show. I was lucky enough to be invited along, and to even grab a few words with Alison Hammond, Simon Webbe and new judge and former Strictly winner, Tom Chambers. Five Minutes with Tim Driesen from Jersey Boys
Ahead of a Christmas run at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham, I had the opportunity to chat to Tim Driesen, who is playing Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys. The full interview is currently on the Style Birmingham website (you can read it here), but here are a few of Tim’s selected musings on Jersey Boys, Boy Bands and all things Christmas. Christmas comes to MPW in The Cube
Christmas came a little early to Birmingham’s iconic Cube building, when Marco Pierre White’s popular restaurant hosted a ‘White Christmas’ tasting event, treating bloggers and food writers to a glamorous evening of Champagne, turkey and crackers, as well as what must be the most breathtaking view in Birmingham. The restaurant is getting ready to launch its festive set menu, which will be available to parties of 10 or more people. In addition, this was an opportunity to showcase the private dining suite, which, with glass on three sides of the room, offers those exquisite views that MPW is quite rightly famous for. We started the evening with Champagne in the…

An evening with Westley Richards
Last Thursday saw the historical Gun company Westley Richards throw a very special evening, that offered guests a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the last surviving gun manufacturers in Birmingham’s proud and historic gun quarter. WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. has been making unique shotguns and rifles since they were founded in 1812. Today, they offer the most comprehensive range of bespoke shotguns and rifles by any single English maker. What is even more impressive is that every item is built in the Birmingham workshops by a team of highly skilled and enthusiastic craftsmen, many of whom started in Birmingham as young apprentices. The company stays true to the ethos…
