Gudrun Sjoden – One dress worn 5 ways

I have been a long time fan of Scandinavian brand Gudrun Sjoden. Gudrun’s designs are always beautiful and unique,  clothes that are amazing quality and offer something that are so different from anything else you will find, High Street, Designer or otherwise. But I was recently set a challenge, could I show just how versatile Gudrun Sjoden pieces could be by styling one dress five different ways? I love a good challenge so I browsed the website, chose the perfect dress, and set about looking for accessories to make five different, but totally versatile looks. The dress I chose was the Florencia cotton/Silk dress which is still available in all…

Kimono Style Jackets from Gudrun Sjoden

In the way that the maxi skirt made a comeback and then never disappeared, the Kimono has had a real moment over the last few years. A traditional Japanese style jacket, the kimono was something that at one time you could only find on a trip overseas, or in a vintage shop. These days it is a key part of the wardrobe, giving an alternative to a jacket or cardigan, and proving to be a versatile piece of clothing that can be worn with jeans, over a little black dress, or even as a beach cover-up. Vive le Kimono! Gudrun Sjoden added kimono jackets to their Spring collection this year,…

Gudrun Sjoden – taking inspiration from the Far East

This Spring, Scandinavian fashion legend Gudrun Sjoden is taking her inspiration from Far Eastern travels, with collections inspired by Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan and China. With new Spring/Summer campaign imagery chocked full of beautiful settings and gloriously colourful clothing, this might just be Gudrun’s best ever work.     Gudrun’s collections are based on great quality cotton and organic fabric, beautiful prints taking inspiration from a wide variety of settings and sources, and wonderful use of colour that reflects the vibrant nature of the designer herself.  I adore the styling for the campaigns, it is always a little bit wild and avant garde, with clashing colours and prints thrown together…

Reviewed – The Salamander Eco Cotton dress from Gudrun Sjoden

When we look at fabrics that are suitable for summer dresses, we seem to be naturally drawn to cool linens and cotton. I’m not a real fan of linen – I love the look on everyone else, but on myself I always look and feel like I’ve slept in my clothes. But cotton is another story, the practical thin layer that keeps us cool and avoids those lived in creases. The Salamander Eco Cotton dress from Gudrun Sjoden is one of those perfect summer pieces in eco cotton. It is no secret to readers of Fashion-Mommy that I am a huge fan of Gudrun Sjoden, the vibrant prints, unique designs…

Gudrun Sjoden Women in Art Collection

Exciting times! The new Spring/Summer collections from Gudrun Sjoden have just been launched, and, as you would expect from the lady, they are bright, beautiful and totally wearable. As regular readers are already aware, I fell in love with Gudrun’s designs at a press day a couple of years ago, pulled in by the fabulous quality of the pieces, the use of organic, Eco cotton, and the sheer fun and use of colour they inspired in my wardrobe. This season, my personal favourite from the current collections is the one inspired by ‘Women in Art’.  This is an homage to some wonderful Scandinavian female artists, in particular, Vera Nilsson, Suri…
