Wallis introduce W Crimson Collection
The second drop from the Wallis W collection for Spring 2014 is now available in store and online. Called the Crimson collection, this one still has an emphasis on neutrals and nude shades, but is now jazzed up with the introduction of orange and tonal pinks. As before the collection has elements of tailoring, with structured jackets and cigarette pants, and this time there is the addition of smart shorts that can be worn with a blazer for a twist on office chic. For me, it is again the dresses that I admire most. Thinking towards holiday packing there are maxi dresses that explode in print, and soft silk shifts…

One final summer day trip with the kids
The summer holidays means time spent with the kids but it is over all too soon. Those six weeks of time away from school is a great chance to spend some quality time together. Visits to the beach, the zoo or a theme park are something that many families enjoy together over the holidays. When the summer is ending it’s always nice to enjoy one last trip out together. Be comfortable and confident in your outfit and don’t forget to take an extra layer in case that autumn weather starts closing in sooner than you’d like. Shorts and T-Shirt If you’re confident of your legs then shorts and t-shirt are…

Question – When is a maxi dress not a maxi dress? Answer – when it is a super luxe maxi dress from Selfridges of course! I love the Angelina Jolie style black draped dress from Helmet Lang, a classic…

Reviewed – Curvissa Print Maxi Dress
Curvissa has recently launched its high summer collection, full of perfect pieces for vacations and stay-cations, and I was lucky enough to be asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of the pieces. I chose the gorgeous print maxi dress which I believe is the summer dress that my wardrobe needed. The print maxi dress is made from a lovely stretchy jersey fabric that makes it comfortable to wear everyday. The print is a vibrant mixture of red, blue and white in a sort of patchwork pattern that gives the dress the feel of a classic 1970s sundress, with the detachable straps making this a great option for…

Summer dress inspiration from Angelina Jolie, Madame X and Mango
When it comes to Summer dressing, black is the new white. Black is not always first choice for summer dresses, pretty much every colour will come in front of it in our mental lists, but I think this is a mistake. Black is always chic, looks great against a suntan, covers all manner of evils when you’re having those not-so-perfect days bodywise, and is basically a classic choice, even (or maybe especially) in summer. This summer, with summer balls and prom season almost upon us, I think we should take inspiration for our dresses from two major sources. First up is Madame X, as painted by John Singer Sargent. This…
