Boden’s Carrie Bradshaw tribute
Boden’s new season has arrived! And this might just be me, but some of the elements seem very familiar to this massive Sex and the City fan. Many parts of the collection are a nod to the legendary style of Carrie Bradshaw, featuring bold floral prints, bows on the waistband and corsages littered throughout. The feminine, but eclectic style remains a strong image, and I think Boden have done really well in channelling all that was fabulous about Carrie’s style, but updating the image for today’s market. Take a look and see if you agree with me.

Pistol Panties Pop Up Shop launched at Selfridges
Last week saw the launch of the Pistol Panties pop up shop in Selfridges London. Bloggers and Press were invited along for a sneak preview before the official launch, enjoying the unique experience of the huge Selfridges store with no customers. Designer Deborah Fleming was on hand to talk about the collection, and a gorgeous carousel style Unicorn took pride of place in the centre of the swimwear, adding a psychedelic and slightly surreal atmosphere to the proceedings. Pistol Panties latest swimwear collection has been inspired by the 1960s Raquel Welch Western Bandelero. Designer Deborah Fleming grew up surrounded by brothers who loved to watch such films on Saturday afternoons.…

In love with Lowie!
A few weeks ago I attended the Forward PR S/S press day and was introduced to the brand Lowie. Lowie are an ethical knitwear/handicraft brand, who will branch into organic cottons for Spring/Summer 2012. I fell in love with the Lowie brand and, in particular, the riviera style nautical prints that will make up a large portion of their S/S collection. Lowie was started by Bronwyn Lowenthal 10 years ago. Since then, she has taken the brand from small market stores to the shelves of luxury department store Liberty’s. Lowie’s emphasis is handicrafts, bringing the likes of hand-knitting, crochet, hand-embroidery and hand-stitching into the 21st century as they are incorporated…

Kate Moss returns to the catwalk…and heralds the return of white in your wardrobe.
We’ve only just stopped talking about her last appearance on the Marc Jacobs/Louis Vuitton catwalk, the one where she appeared to be wearing support pants and was smoking a cigarette on National No smoking day. And now Kate Moss has returned to the Louis Vuitton catwalk, and this time it was apparently at her own request. If Kate shocked on her last appearance, this time she just looked extraordinarily pretty. The Spring/Summer collection for Louis Vuitton is a frothy, candy floss confection of early 60s style dresses which were modelled on the biggest carousel Paris had to other. This was a sweet and girlie collection, that made the most of…

Stephanie Grace Foy – One to watch.
At the recent London Fashion Week I was lucky enough to meet and chat to Stephanie Grace Foy. A talented up and coming designer, I was intrigued by her collection ‘Longitude/Latitude’ which seemed to juxtaposedly be the most simple, yet also the most intricate of designs. This is a wonderful collection of ‘lighter than air’ pieces that are deceptive in their cool simplicity. Stephanie has a background as a freelance pattern cutter working for some of the best in the fashion business. Her CV includes pattern cutting for Mark Fast, Topshop Unique and Mario Schwab. Witnessing the inner workings of the design process led Stephanie to formulate ideas for her…
