Roger Taylor joins the Careless Memories launch
Following on from last week’s press and VIP launch, last night saw the official opening of Denis O’Regan’s Careless Memories exhibition of Duran Duran photographs. Taking place at Birmingham’s Malmaison, Duran Duran fans had traveled from far and wide to be a part of the special evening, and were rewarded with an appearance by Duran’s drummer Roger Taylor. It was a really great event. The stunning images that I had watched being hung last week were now providing a real visual spectacle in the reception and side rooms of Malmaison, taking viewers back to the golden heyday of one of Birmingham’s most famous bands. The champagne reception being hosted in…

Festival fashion with a difference from Coachella
Coachella is that festival that will all wish we could go to. Taking place every year, it is the festival that the celebrity fashionista’s love, the one with the glorious weather, the one with no mud, the one where you can actually wear white. It combines sunshine, music, great clothes, pool parties, celebrity launches and lots of glamour. Yes, it is the one festival you can enjoy even if you hate tents! I have been looking at all the outfits from this year’s festival and have chosen my favourite looks. Talking Careless Memories with Denis O’Regan
Denis O’Regan is a rock legend. The tour photographer on some of the key tours in music since the 1980s, this week Denis was in Birmingham to launch his new coffee table book, ‘Careless Memories’, which chronicles his time on the road with Duran Duran on their Sing Blue Silver tour in 1984. The book is also accompanied by a wonderful exhibition of his Duran Duran tour photographs at Birmingham’s Malmaison, which starts on April 23rd. I was lucky enough to have a chat with Denis at Malmaison, where we talked about the book, exhibition, and all things Duran Duran (and, as a Duranie, please allow me a swoon at…

Kim Sears weds Andy Murray
It may be only April, but it seems as if we’ve already witnessed the wedding of the year. Yesterday Wimbledon Champ Andy Murray wed the gorgeous Kim Sears in Dunblane, and it proved to be the sort of warm and wonderful wedding that warms the heart, even though the weather wasn’t all that kind to the happy couple. The stylish Kim has proved to be a bit of a fashion favourite in recent years, with both tennis fans and fashion fans noticing her chic, and always elegant choices that, like another famous tennis fan, Kate Middleton, manage to successfully mix designer pieces with high street favourites. So, on this most special…

Spotlight on JD Williams
One of the main problems with being a blogger based outside London is that you sometimes get invited to fabulous events that you just can@t attend. Such was the case last year when I received an invite to a special dinner with Lorraine Kelly from JD Williams. Lorraine was launching a fabulous collection with the online catalogue brand, but because of how late I would be arriving back to the Midlands, it was an invite I had to decline. Lorraine’s collection is just part of the great offering from JD Williams, a company that has a range that goes from sizes 12 – 32. JD Williams has tackled all those…
