Harvey Nichols Spring fashion show…Can I have it all please?
Last Saturday saw Harvey Nichols, Birmingham, hold a host of fabulous fashion shows to celebrate the new season. The shows, being held in a fashion theatre on the ground floor of the Mailbox, celebrated all that is new to Harvey Nicks, a mixture of casual daytime and evening glamour. Designers from Malene Birger,Philip Armstrong, McQueen, DKNY and Markus Lupfer were all represented in the show, as was an array of totally gorgeous Louboutins. Superdrug S/S press day – A feast of amazing beauty bargains
I was lucky enough to be invited to the recent Superdrug press day. This was held in the beautiful Haymarket Hotel in the heart of London on what turned out to be a glorious early Spring day (even though it was still February, I think 17 degrees constitutes Spring!). This was a fantastic event that was dedicated to showcasing all that is new in cosmetics, skincare and tanning products at Superdrug this summer, and frankly showed that looking amazing shouldn’t mean taking out a bank loan! Rock chick style from the NME awards
The NME awards are one of the most important nights on the rock chick’s calendar. The usual suspects of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof will never miss this night of rock and roll debauchery, and in terms of style, the only thing guaranteed is that you will see lots of gothic black. That doesn’t mean you won’t see some highly covetable outfits. Here are some of the key looks from the night. Grammy fashion – Who made the grade.
The Grammy’s is always interesting in fashion terms (who could ever forget Gaga arriving in an egg?), but this year there was a sombre cloud hanging over the proceedings, following the death, just hours earlier, of Grammy winning superstar Whitney Houston. But the show did go on, and there was one undoubted winner on the night, both in the music and style stakes. Adele looked so beautiful in a Giorgio Armani black shimmering gown, with long sleeves and a slightly low back. Her hair was lighter and fixed in 1950s movie star waves. Baftas fabulous fashion – How to get the look.
The bright and beautiful of Hollywood took a trip across the pond for the BAFTAS on Sunday evening, bringing some pretty serious fashion statements with them. Michelle Williams, Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep and (swoon! swoon!) George Clooney all took a trip down the red carpet, being accosted by a Louis Vuitton clad Miss Piggy on route. There was also a strong showing from the Brit contingent, with Emilia Fox, Tilda Swinton and honorary Brit Gillian Anderson shining on a rather cold winters night.
