Outfit post – January looks.
I generally hate January, it is a dull, miserable, cold and dark month that is such a disappointment after the bright lights and fun of Christmas. And, for me, this January has been no exception to this rule, made even more depressing due to a worrying health scare I have been living with, one now made a little easier due to some pretty drastic tests last week. Thankfully it seems that my worst fear won’t be realised, although I will still need some more tests and appointments in the coming months. But January hasn’t been all doom and gloom. I have hit the sales with some avengence, picking out some…

Red Carpet Style at House of Fraser
Saturday will see the next big event on the awards season calendar, when the Screen Actors Guild awards take place. The SAGs are generally considered to be one of the lesser awards when it comes to the fashion, with simpler styles, casual looks and jumpsuits all making an appearance on the Red Carpet. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t some seriously gorgeous looks on display (you can check out last year’s best dressed here.) But it does mean that this is one award ceremony where you could get away with a dress bought ‘off the peg’. House of Fraser have become a part of the British Red Carpet in recent…

Vintage 50s style…without the mothballs
As a lover of vintage clothes, I love nothing more than a trawl around Charity and second hand shops, jumble sales and car boot sales, in order to uncover an original bargain. But I know this is not the case for everyone. Many people are put off by the idea of rumaging through old clothing, especially if it is unwashed, whilst others just don’t like the idea of wearing something that once belonged to a stranger. Luckily, these days, you can get the retro look without actually having to wear vintage pieces. Retro fashion has become a big fashion story in recent years, with brands like Chi Chi London selling…

Celebrity Get the look featuring a host of ITV stars
One of my favourite types of posts to research and write concerned with Celebrity Get the Look. These posts are always interesting to research, and I particularly love it when I find that a particular outfit contains elements that come from the High Street or from online companies. This particular post has lots of finds from both of those places, and also has one other thing in common – all the ladies featured are presenters or actresses who have worked, or are currently working, on ITV. So we have Corrie ladies Georgia May Foote, Sair Khan and Lucy Fallon (Katy, Alya and Bethany) who are showing both red carpet and…

Best looks and High Street finds from the NTA’s
The NTA’s are always a bit of a feeble hunting ground when it comes to stylish, classy looks. For some reason, put a red carpet in front of our soap stars, reality TV stars and TV presenters, and you suddenly get flesh on display, lots of it. Bare Midriffs, outrageous amounts of cleavage and sheer skirts flashing acres of leg and a whole lot more are the uniform of choice for this event, and so as someone who loves to look at beautiful dresses, this is one red carpet event that tends to leave me cold – colder than the barely dressed stars. But that doesn’t mean there were no…
