Daisy Ridley – new star (wars) style icon
You may not be familiar with the name Daisy Ridley yet, but give it a week and this is going to be the girl that everyone is talking about. Daisy is, of course, one of the stars of the movie that is already breaking box office records everywhere – ‘Star Wars – The Force Awakens’, playing Rey, who is described intriguingly as ” a resilient survivor, a scavenger toughened by a lifetime of dealing with the cutthroats of the harsh desert world of Jakku.” But even if Star Wars is not your thing, Daisy has been impressing in areas other than great acting. In short, she is a red carpet…

The final Downton Fashion feast
The curtain finally falls on Downton Abbey on Christmas Day, with millions of fans already mourning its departure. Many will miss Michelle Dockery as Lady Mary, Laura Carmichael as Lady Edith, and the inimitable Maggie Smith and her acerbic one liners. But if I am brutally honest, what I will miss most is the frocks and fashion. Downton started just before World War One, but the most recent series have been set in the roaring twenties, when hemlines were raised, waists were dropped along with not so few inhibitions. The 1920s is a fashion era that was truly revolutionary, especially for women, and it remains both fascinating and iconic for…

Snow Queen inspiration at Topshop
Hans Christian Anderson was a true literary genius wasn’t he. For when he created the Snow Queen, he not only created one of the most memorable characters in children’s literature, he also produced a legendary fashion icon. When Winter comes, and if there is even a little chance of snow, the stark white, slivers of silver and lashings of fur become total wardrobe favourites. Because who doesn’t want to look like a beautiful Snow Queen in a Winter Wonderland? This season Topshop have created a range of pieces that will allow you to take inspiration from that chilly but beautiful fashionista, with dresses that have sequins and sparkle, cuddly fur…

Christmas Gift ideas and review from Jack Wills
My latest gift guide/review deals with some fabulous products from Jack Wills. They have really upped the ante this year when it comes to great Christmas gift ideas and stocking fillers, with a range that shows variety, style and, of course, that navy and pink classic stripe design. Jack Wills is a brand I’m slightly unfamiliar with in that I obviously know the brand, but have always believed it was something for a teenage audience. This was due to the hoodies, shirts and t-shirts that were a big story for the brand. But to dismiss Jack Wills as just somewhere for casual teenage wear is to make a huge mistake,…
