M&Co are celebrating the shift dress this Spring
The shift dress is a design classic, an item of clothing that never dates and certainly never goes out of fashion. It first gained fame in the 1950s and 60s, when shift designs by Norman Norell, Lily Pulitzer and of course Givenchy, were worn by Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy and Jean Shrimpton. The simple design and clean lines of the shift made it a design that still remained vibrant and important even as the 1960s began to swing – the hemlines were just raised a little. The design gained shoulder pads in the 1980s, and then worked with the minimalistic style of the 1990s, being the last fashion favourite of…

30 wardrobe updates for under £30
Now we are firmly ensconced in the month of March, and with Mother’s Day celebrations out of the way, it is the time to give that wardrobe a Spring makeover. And whilst I’m not saying you should be packing away those jumpers just yet (it is still rather cold if we’re honest.), we can start to think about adding new pieces to our looks that could be classed as transitional. The Wonderful World of Shoes
I have a slight obsession with shoes! Ok, scratch that, I have an enormous obsession with shoes. I just love beautiful footwear, and it is the one thing that I find really hard to resist, even when I’m on a spending ban. Trying to pass a shoe shop, particularly when there is a sale on, is the equivalent of King Midas bypassing the Jewellery Quarter – it’s just not going to happen. I must have two hundred pairs by now, from vintage pieces from Bally and Salvatore Ferragamo (charity shop finds), to designer pairs from Westwood and Marc Jacobs. I love high street brands too, and find all my summer…

Wallis review – A little blue dress
When Wallis sent me the Ink Lace Ruche Side dress a couple of weeks ago, I never in a million years thought that this particular dress would become my ‘go-to’ frock, perfect for all manner of occasions, easy to wear, and versatile enough to team with a range of other colours, including metallics. This dress has already been worn for two special occasions. Forget the ‘Little black dress’ and meet instead the ‘little blue dress.’ This is a classic 60s shaped shift dress. The neckline is almost slash style – quite high, but with pleated detail, whilst there is also ruching on the side that adds another element to the…

F&F launch New season range
F&F Clothing are today launching their fabulous new collection, which is being promoted with some very cool imagery. The collection contains wide leg trousers, elongated waistcoats that have surely been influenced by Victoria Beckham, and a black dress that will surely become a staple of many holiday wardrobes come summer. Colours are stark, a palette of white, black and khaki that give the collection a feel that borders on ‘Out of Africa’ merged with Lauren Hutton’s safari style. The wide leg trousers owe more to the Wallis Simpson 1930s look than the 70s flares and bell bottoms that are on display everywhere else this season. Whilst the striking look with…
