February Outfit round-up
As we are now firmly ensconced in March, I thought it was about time I did a run through of some of the outfits I wore in February ( before we hit April, so to speak!). February was a lovely, busy month for me, and some of my outfits have already been featured in the form of reviews, so I have tried not to feature them again, but there were other trips to the theatre, and different events where I dug into the wardrobe to put something suitable together. I have not really purchased much in the way of clothing since the new year, so I have definitely been…

Lotto Wishlist for Spring
Can you believe that this year it will 21 years since the National Lottery began in the UK? More importantly, can you believe that in 21 years I still haven’t had anything I would class as a decent win? Yes, three numbers is still as good as it gets for me, although for my hubby it was a different story in 2005, when he had 5 numbers, and was just one off the bonus ball too. Reviewed – F&F Duster Jacket
One of the most versatile pieces you can add to your wardrobe now Spring is here (ahem – yes it is snowing outside the window as I write this – but it’s March, and that means Spring to me.) is a duster jacket. Lightweight, but so elegant and stylish, a duster jacket is a great with jeans and flat shoes for a casual look, but can also be worn, 1960s style, over a shift dress for a more dressy, or evening look. One of the best value duster jackets around at the moment is the F&F version that comes in a very pretty and springlike dusky pink shade. With mid…

Reviewed – Planet Emerald Lace Dress
I have to admit, that at this moment, I am in the middle of a green phase. It has become my colour of choice when I want to stand out in the crowd, especially when it is the deepest emerald shade. Green is one of those colours my grandad was always deeply suspicious of. He considered it to be an unlucky colour, and one of his favourite sayings was ‘blue and green, never be seen’, which is now funny as this is one of my favourite colour combinations. Conversely, green is my mom’s favourite colour, and with my little boy being a green eyed beauty, this is definitely a colour…

Cinderella brings sorbet colours to Kaliko
Forget 50 Shades, for fans of fairytale romance and opulent costumes, the real cinematic treat of the year opens next month. Kenneth Branagh’s retelling of Cinderella, featuring Downton Abbey star Lily James as the epoynmous heroine, has already received some great reviews, and promises to bring frothy, glittering fun to the screen, with dresses fit for Disney princesses. From the stills that have already appeared online, Cinderella is a sumptuous, visual feast. For girls who grew up loving the classic Disney version, the good news is that when Cinderella does get to the ball, she is still wearing a blue gown…and what a gown it is. Think every little girl’s…
