Anna Sophia Robb is the new Carrie!
We’ve been hearing a lot about the Sex In The City prequel ‘The Carrie Diaries’ for some time now, with speculation rife about who would step into Sarah Jessica Parker’s gym shoes in order to play the young Carrie Bradshaw. It seemed that the front runner was Blake Lively, but I was never happy about that choice. The lithe Blake was too beautiful, too sexy and too self assured to play a feisty, but naive young Carrie, and I voiced my concern in a past post. Carrie Bradshaw is, after all, a modern icon, and so the person chosen needed to be able to live up to our image of…

Baftas fabulous fashion – How to get the look.
The bright and beautiful of Hollywood took a trip across the pond for the BAFTAS on Sunday evening, bringing some pretty serious fashion statements with them. Michelle Williams, Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep and (swoon! swoon!) George Clooney all took a trip down the red carpet, being accosted by a Louis Vuitton clad Miss Piggy on route. There was also a strong showing from the Brit contingent, with Emilia Fox, Tilda Swinton and honorary Brit Gillian Anderson shining on a rather cold winters night. Here are my personal favourites from the night. Michelle Williams drew gasps when it emerged that her classic gown was from H&M. The whole look was…

A snapshot of February’s Key looks featuring Kate Middleton,Emma Watson and Olivia Palermo
Another month is half way through (well, almost) and the fabulous looks keep coming thick and fast. From pre bafta parties and lunches, to perfume launches and public appearances, there have been some fabulous outfits on show. Here are some that I really love, with a few tips on how to get the look. Look 1 – Emma Watson. The always impeccable Emma Watson looked beautiful in a black puff-ball style dress at the launch of Lancome’s Rouge in Love at Selfridges London. This was such a pretty look, from the puffed sleeves and dotted netting, to the puff-ball skirt. I love that Emma always looks so age appropriate, a…

Seventies chunky heels at Spartoo
The Seventies trend shows no sign of disappearing. The recent SAG awards saw Angelina Jolie, Tilda Swinton and Rose Byrne all embrace 1970s trends in dress. But what about shoes? I personally adore the variety of shoe styles available from the 1970s. By this, I’m not talking Noddy Holder or Ziggy Stardust type shoes, but the stacked heeled, cork heeled sexy platforms that were usually in natural colours like tan and browns. These were shoes that have stood the test of time, and are still worn to great effect by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel. I have recently discovered the French shoe stylist Spartoo.…
