Charli XCX and Boohoo – latest Drop
Since she first burst onto the music scene with the extremely catchy ‘Boom Clap’, Charlie XCX has proved to be a fashion maven like no other. Her style is quirky and original, pulling ideas from a range of sources including the 1990s and early Year 2k styling, the Spice Girls at there glorious peak and the punkish edge of Courtney Love and Sioxsie Sioux. Charli has her own style and doesn’t really give a hoot for best dressed lists and minimalism. Charli XCX – Quirky Style This week has seen the launch of her second collection in collaboration with Boohoo. As with the first collection, this won’t be for everyone,…

If I won the Lottery just what would I buy?
I love shopping! There, I’ve said it. I love the feel of getting something new, of finding a bargain, of treating myself, or a loved one, to something that has been admired, but may have been too expensive, and has maybe had to be saved for. But monthly bills and expenses, and also the ever growing expense of having a child who seems to grow out of things at an alarming rate means that my shopping habits have to be frugal and careful. Coast ‘Dating Dress Diary’ – Turning a disaster into a triumph
Is there any occasion more frightening, more butterfly inducing, than a first date? Everything needs to be perfect – the location, the atmosphere, and of course, your outfit. When I was a teenager, there was one wardrobe item that was essential for a Saturday night out. I’m talking about the slip dress, that tiny piece of fabric with spaghetti style straps and a look that was distinctly more negligee than frock. I wore a pink short version the first time I met my husband, and used to actually buy vintage nighties to wear as dresses, sometimes grunge style with a t-shirt underneath, other times more glamorous with lots of faux pearls or diamante. Kate Moss was queen of the slip dress, and there was no-one cooler than Kate in the 90s. And although they’ve never really gone away…

Designer Fashion: Facing Difficult Times
For years the elite fashion stores in our major cities, like London and Paris, have welcomed tourists with open-arms as big spenders, but with the outbreak of Covid 19 leaving the big cities like ghost towns, the big designer names are struggling, with no fashion weeks, lack of celebrities on the red carpets to share their designs, and stores and ateliers all closed. It seems that fashion is yet another victim of Covid 19. We are all aware of how the High Street has struggled, with big names like Cath Kidston, Warehouse and Oasis, the Arcadia group, Debenhams and English classic brand Jaeger all falling victim to the virus, which,…
