Vintage at the Manor
The Manor House Museum is a jewel in the Midlands crown, a beautiful historic building in West Bromwich that was built in the 13th Century. For many years it was a pub – I actually met my husband there, and so it has many special memories for me. It was recently taken back into the guardianship of Sandwell Council, and is now used for events, guided tours and family friendly activitites. This Sunday saw Vintage at the Manor 2 taking place – a weekend dedicated to all things Vintage, from clothes and accessories, to beauty and music. It was a beautiful day and I can’t think of a better way…

Stylish Television – The Outcast
I’m going to start this post with a confession – I’m not a great fan of Sadie Jones’s book. I read The Outcast this summer, I’d found it in a charity shop during a trip to Wales and fell in love with the stunning cover. The book sounded great too, set in one of my favourite decades, the 1950s, and with a glamorous lead character in the charismatic Elizabeth. A vintage Update
It seems like an age since I last wrote about my vintage and charity shops finds. A glimpse at one of my favourite vintage blogs – Porcelina’s World – this morning inspired me to share a few of my recent vintage and charity shop finds. I found a great blue crimplene skirt for 50p, and a gothic black dress (pictured below) for just £2. Car boot sales allow you to barter and you can often make an offer if you find a few good items. We visit Wales…

Summer trends unveiled at Boden
Light nights, long days and lots and lots of Vitamin D inducing Sunshine. Oh, how I love and long for Summer. As seasons go, it is definitely my favourite, which I think maybe something to do with the fact that I’m a June baby – I’m never happy that when I’m lounging in summer sunshine with a Pimms or Martini. Another great thing about summer, apart from the aforementioned sun and cocktails, is summer fashion. Without the restraints of everything having to be covered by a heavy coat, we can turn once again to cotton and silk, to gorgeous colourful prints, and boho styles that literally scream ‘holiday’. Over the…

DIY Jar Vases
The many uses of mason jars have long been a favourite topic on the internet and their online presence doesn’t look to be fading – and this doesn’t really come as much of a surprise! They’re extremely versatile and are able to provide that perfect shabby chic look to any space. They’re an ideal container for displaying flowers and there are so many DIY vase possibilities to choose from. Here are a few ideas: Metallic paint Grab a spray paint in your favourite metallic shade, be it gold, silver or bronze and wrap a plastic bag or other material around the outside of the jar. Spray paint the inside, allowing…
