Oscars 2016 – Dresses and trends
The most glamorous night on the movie calendar took place last night in Los Angeles, and it didn’t disappoint in terms of jaw dropping dresses. There were show-stopping looks from the likes of Cate Blanchett, Alicia Vikander (who was apparently channeling Belle from Beauty and the Beast in her yellow Louis Vuitton dress – whether that was true or not she looked incredible), Naomi Watts and Sofia Vergara amongst many more. Yes, Oscar night was back! (Click here to catch up with all the winners.) Glamorous glitter was well represented by the flawless Saoirse Ronan in green Calvin Klein, very Studio 54 Halston, but kept young and up-t0-date with her…

The BAFTA Awards – Fave Frocks
I just love awards season, I never, ever get bored of seeing beautiful dresses on beautiful people, and last night, at the BAFTAS, there were some exquisite looks on display, with Cate Blanchett and Saoirse Ronan showing off their best awards season looks so far. The BAFTAs is a great mixture of Hollywood royalty, up and coming talent, and the cream of British film and television. It makes an eclectic mix and ensures that the fashion is fresh and interesting. So we get Hollywood stars like Cate, Julianne Moore and Dakota Johnson, Brit beauties like Gemma Chan and Laura Bailey, and rising stars like Bel Powley and Saoirse, which, in…

Golden Globes – looks and trends 2016
Last night saw the first red carpet proper of awards season, when the Golden Globes took place. This post is dedicated to the trends of the night, which saw deep, plunging cleavage being one of the key looks on the night, as Halston style necklines reigned supreme. Best dressed on the night for me was the exquisite JLo, who moved away from the nude, barely there dresses of last season, to full on, vintage style Hollywood glamour, in a dress she described as ‘mustardy’. It was a beautiful look by Giambattista Valli and made JLo stand out from the all the flesh on display. America Ferreira went for a dress…

Early Awards Season Sensational looks
Forget all my proclamations about hating January. I mean, yes, I hate the post- Christmas malaise, the cold weather, no Christmas decorations, the lack of money and all round depressive nature of the month, but I had totally forgot about award season, which, for someone who would like to spend every day in a ballgown, more diamonds than Harry Winston and Jimmy Choo glitter sandals, is by far the best time of the year. The Golden Globes will take place on Sunday night, which kickstarts the frocks and the glamour of award season, but there have already been lots of smaller events taking place this week, which have been the…

Cinderella brings sorbet colours to Kaliko
Forget 50 Shades, for fans of fairytale romance and opulent costumes, the real cinematic treat of the year opens next month. Kenneth Branagh’s retelling of Cinderella, featuring Downton Abbey star Lily James as the epoynmous heroine, has already received some great reviews, and promises to bring frothy, glittering fun to the screen, with dresses fit for Disney princesses. From the stills that have already appeared online, Cinderella is a sumptuous, visual feast. For girls who grew up loving the classic Disney version, the good news is that when Cinderella does get to the ball, she is still wearing a blue gown…and what a gown it is. Think every little girl’s…
