Olivia Palermo – Get the look at George

When I think about who does ‘smart/casual’ dressing best of all, my mind is always drawn to Olivia Palermo. She seems to have a knack of choosing separates that, individually look simple, and yet she puts them together with such style that you are immediately drawn to her outfits when picking your best dressed.

The outfit below is a case in point. Individual pieces from Esprit that colour clash, are put together cleverly with vintage accessories to create a killer outfit. The mustard/orange shade of the cable knit sweater actually looks fabulous with the plum skinnies, whilst the addition of those paste brooches is a genius touch that adds glamour to what is a daytime look. The mismatched shoes and bag also shouldn’t work, but they clearly do, giving the jeans a more businesslike, elegant feel.

You can get a great version of Olivia’s look from the current Asda George range. I’m particularly smitten with the £8 cable jumpers that come in a range of colours (At that price you can afford to buy a few different shades!). These are great versions of Olivia’s jumper and look snug without being bulky.

Celebrity Style – Get the look featuring Olivia Palermo, Kelly Brook, Tulisa and Miranda Kerr

On the wettest Monday that I can remember in a long time (yes, I know, I have a rather short memory…) I thought it would be good to check out some of the hottest celebrity looks around at the moment . From celebrity collaborations to celebs wearing the High Street, this is an eclectic mixture of must have looks. Add to this a ‘get the look for less’ from Boohoo.com for a stunning dress worn by supermodel Miranda Kerr, and you have some pretty sharp pieces to help update that wardrobe.

 Kelly Brook for New Look

Kelly Brook’s latest drop for New Look is a fifties bombshell collection. Full of animal prints, peter pan collars and skyscraper heels, this is a collection that harks back to the 1950s and the last hurrah for Hollywood. My picks have to be the blouse and leopard print pencil skirt that Kelly wears so wonderfully in the ad campaign for the collection.

Olivia Palermo in Reiss

The ever stylish Olivia Palermo looked amazing on the London Fashion Week front row wearing an outfit that came from Reiss. I can’t even begin to say how much I love the leather. peasant style skirt – if this doesn’t prove that leather has moved so far away from the image of hairy bikers, than nothing will!

Miranda Kerr get the look at Boohoo

Miranda Kerr always looks fantastic, and this skater style dress that she wore at a launch for Samantha Thavasa was no exception. You can get this look for just £20 from boohoo.com. What’s so great about it is that it will look just as good when you team it with opaques for those chilly Autumn days.

Cheska Hull in Missguided

Cheska Hull always looks great, and in this Missguided dress she looks like a Grecian goddess. With Versace style studding detail, this is a showstopping dress, and yet you can get it for a bargainous £32.99. What I really like about this is the length of the skirt – this isn’t too short, it’s a perfect mini length.

Tulisa in Zara Taylor

In a clip from next week’s X factor, Tulisa is shown wearing a totally gorgeous brass collar necklace. This Cleopatra style piece is another fantastic creation from the uber cool jewellery designer, Zara Taylor. Zara tweeted her excitement, and also added the tantalising detail that the fabulous contestant Lucy Spraggen, one of the favourites of the competition, has also got some Zara Taylor pieces, something to definitely watch out for.

Lizzie Cundy wears Mya Blue Luxe

The gorgeous television presenter Lizzie Cundy showed that the most luxurious and exotic of beach inspired dresses and kaftans are just too good to keep for holiday season. Lizzie looked amazing at The Lingerie Awards last week wearing the Marbella Silk dress from Mya Blue Luxe. With the addition of a simple shift, this sheer dress is turned into an ultra glamorous evening dress. Top marks.

Style Trend – Summer Sequins

Sequins used to be a trend kept to Christmas parties and Las Vegas showgirls, but these days your wardrobe isn’t complete without a bit of glittering bling in it. But for those who think that sequins should be kept to the party season, and should only be worn in black, think again. These days, sequins in ice cream shades are the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe. Celebrities from Olivia Palermo to the new Carrie Bradshaw,  AnnaSophia Robb, have shown that sequins can actually be a very versatile addition to your  capsule wardrobe, and High Street stores like French Connection, and online giants like Boohoo.com are all keying into the trend. This is definitely a trend worth investing in, and one which will last right into next season.
