Glamour at the Baftas from House of Fraser
Last night saw the television Baftas taking place, with the stars of the small screen walking the red carpet. Sheridan Smith, Lucy Mecklenburgh, Millie Mackintosh, Michelle Keegan and Denise Van Outen were amongst the lovely ladies who got their best frocks on for a night of television celebration. If I’m being honest, it was far from a vintage night for style or fashion. Many of the lovely ladies had decided to go for the Met Gala flash as much flesh as possible route with dresses that offered sheer panels, strategically placed lace and not a lot else. I might be on my own saying this, but I am so bored…

Taking care of your posture in high heels
Whatever style you prefer, whether it’s stiletto, kitten heel, platform, wedge or court, the high heel shoe has many fans. And from a fashion and aesthetic point of view, it’s easy to understand why. The higher the heel the more elongated your silhouette becomes. A heel gives us height, making us feel more confident and appear more slender. But high heels give us other things, too – like posture problems, foot conditions, aching joints and other physical ailments. Wearing high heels every day for long periods can have detrimental effects on your health, but specifically your posture. Ramping it up Wearing high heels mimics the action of standing on…

A few unusual places to dine
There is nothing I like better than dining out, either for brunch, lunch or dinner. I love many different kinds of cuisines and have a few restaurants that I would consider ‘favourites’ from Bellagio’s Italian restaurant in West Bromwich, to Thai Orchid in Birmingham, and quite a few different places in London. But as much as I love to revisit my favourites, it is also great to try new, interesting and unusual places to eat. Here are a few new ventures, interesting ideas and pop-up’s in the world of food. Bunga Bunga London Bunga Bunga is based in Battersea and is named for Silvio Berlusconi’s ‘Bunga Bunga Girls’. I haven’t…

Review – Tassel Kimono from Pretaportobello
I was recently introduced to the online fashion market Pretaportobello. The concept was inspired by the quirky fashion of London’s famous and iconice fashion markets such as the Portobello Road Market, Spitalfields, Camden and Brick Lane, where vintage bargains can be found along with pieces from news and upcoming designers. The website is a small family business run by three sisters, two of which have children so there is a real sense of ‘mumpreneurship’ about the concept! What they have put together is just brilliant, an Aladdin’s Cave of a site, with unique products from independent designers and a host of original fashion and designers that you just cannot find…

Friday Fashion – Brantano unveil Shoe-Per video campaign
There have been a few adverts recently that have made you want to buy a specific pair of shoes. I’m thinking of a certain Lloyds bank advert with a rather gorgeous pair of green shoes that had me drooling at the television every time it came on the television. Now, shoe chain Brantano have unveiled some rather cool shoe videos, one which is starring a lovely pair of turqouise wedges that have no gone onto my shoe shopping list. Take a look – rather pretty eh! The good thing is, on this occasion, you can actually buy the shoes in question from the Brantano website right now. The design is…
