Hobbs hosts an Autumn Preview at Pavilions Birmingham
Twitter is a great place for networking, finding out about great events and happenings. Last monday I received a tweet from über stylist Beth Goodrham saying Beth Goodrham @BethGoodrham @fashion_mommyWM hi, do you fancy coming to an event at Hobbs B’ham next Friday at 5pm? Cocktails and a peep at the new collection on offer! Well, an offer like that was too good to turn down, so on Friday night, a few hours before that fabulous opening ceremony that I keep reliving in my head, I headed into Birmingham for a night of clothes, cocktails and conversation with some of my favourite bloggers. All guests were greeted with a…

Disney brings it’s Magic to Birmingham
As a fashion blogger, I get invited to all sorts of fabulous events, but it is rare that I am invited to take my family. So it was a really special occasion this week when I was invited to attend the VIP opening of Disney Live at Birmingham NIA, and was also asked if I would like to bring the family along too. I didn’t need to be asked twice – I knew my Donald Duck fanatic Joe, and my Disney Princess niece Lia would just adore the event. The afternoon started with a special pre-show reception. The children were delighted to be given a Mickey Mouse figure each, and…

Harvey Nichols Birmingham Launch Face Lace
I am really excited about the newest addition to Harvey Nichols cosmetic department. A stunning, baroque face adornment that seems to have been inspired by the gothic beauty of iconic ladies Daphne Guinness and Lady Gaga, Face Lace is an unusual way to make sure all eyes are on you. Gisele is just one celebrity beauty who has worn a face lace design recently, bringing to mind masked balls of the past. The collection has been created by Make up artist Phyllis Cohen, renowned for the magical make-up effects she has created for the likes of David Bowie and Daphne Guinness in a career that has spanned 20 years. It…

L’Occitaine and In Style have been hosting a series of pampering and style events all over the country recently, and I was very excited to be invited to the Birmingham event, held in the Pavilions Birmingham branch, and attended by a host of stylish customers and fashion and beauty bloggers. This was a great opportunity to enjoy a glass of fizz and canapes, whilst getting the chance to have a hand and arm massage and an introduction to a host of wonderful new products. With a host of lovely Brum fashion bloggers, Laura from The Doll on Fashion, Bhav from Wardrobe Mag, Emily Jayne from Emily Jayne Image and Jen from…

Selfridges Birmingham enjoy Big Beauty Bang
Thursday night saw Selfridges Birmingham in party mood as it started a Summer celebration of all things British with the Big Beauty Bang. This was a night dedicated to all things pampering as make-overs, champagne and goodie bags dominated the proceedings. The atmosphere was a little bit carnival (think hoola hooping Cabaret ladies), a little bit fairground (the most amazing grabbing machine…more later) and very, very British – Union Jack Pommery Champagne anyone? Every beauty counter was offering free gifts with purchases, with key make-up artists also in attendance offering make-overs and beauty guidance. It was lovely to see Cesar Santos performing his cosmetic wizardry for Giorgio Armani, and I…
