Phase Eight Embrace Retro Winter Sun
I must admit I got a little bit excited when I first laid eyes on the new swimwear collection from Phase Eight. The brand is always a favourite of mine for the sheer glamour and elegance of the collections, there is something a little bit Hollywood about the full skirts and sequins, without even turning our head towards the spectacular ‘Collection 8’ range. And now we have a holiday range, complete with swimwear straight from the wardrobe of Liz Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, with a little 70s inspiration thrown in for good measure. The swimwear collection deserves the word ‘amazing’ attached to it. Forget barely there, string bikini’s, the pieces…

Duchess Kate shows off her maternity style in Hobbs, Seraphine and Madderson London
For those who love the Duchess of Cambridge’s style (for that read me!) the last week has been a great time, with Kate making a whole host of appearances on different engagements, and wearing some new pieces. With Kate being well-known for her thrifty nature, new pieces are always something to enjoy, and when those pieces also come from the High Street, you can guess their will be the inevitable sell-outs and internet crashes. First up, we have a stunning, 1960s style tunic dress from Madderson London, a fairly new British design company who are set to see their profile rise considerably now Kate has been spotted in their ‘Naomi’…

The Sweet scent of Baby Powder from The Library of Fragrance
The very best of perfumes and fragrances are always evocative. They evoke the memories of a special time, a place, an event or a person, and this makes them important as they transport you from the daily norm. When I smell Lancome Miracle I go back to my wedding day, Lou Lou still reminds me of my teenage years – it was my first grown up perfume, whilst if I smell 4711 I think of my nan, she loved it so I sometimes wear it in her honour. Scent has a powerful way of moving us, and evoking so many memories. But it is not just perfumes that do that.…

New Look Press Day S/S 15
Today there has been snow, and I have to say the appearance of the white stuff has got me thinking more and more about Spring. How I long for Spring – light nights, warm days, cut grass and daffodils, all things I love and dream about on these cold, frosty mornings. But as I can’t have Spring for some time yet, I will turn to the next best thing – Spring Fashion, with a focus on some of the most anticipated lines from high street fave New Look. The New Look press day took place at the end of November, on a dull drizzly day. I felt a little unwell…

My first fashion wishlist for 2015
Before I start to talk about my first fashion wishlist for 2015 (I’m thinking of doing regular updates as the new season lines start to arrive in store) I think I need to explain that this is a wishlist – rather than a what I really need list. Confused? Well let me explain. A recent trawl through my wardrobe has shown there are some real gaps in the clothes I own. I have nowhere near enough jeans and trousers, as proved as I have tried to grab for these for the rather cold school run, and have then discovered they are all in the wash. I really need a good…
