Reviewed – Zebra Print Dress from Tu at Sainsburys
The next review in my series celebrating life beginning at 40 is from Tu, the range of clothes that are stocked in Sainsburys. I’ve been a fan of Tu for years, I believe they offer exceptionally good quality for a supermarket brand, with style very similar to Boden, but at a great budget price range. I really enjoyed looking at the current collection, which offered something a little different to the summer brights I have been wearing. Natural and neutral shades, with more than a nod towards the ‘Out of Africa’ and safari styles that always work so well in summer, make up an important part of this collection, with…

On your marks, get set…the Selfridges sale has begun
And so the sales season continues, with Selfridges the latest to announce their big summer savings. The Selfridges sale is the one that can most likely be classed as an event, they hold very few sales throughout the year, and the savings are always massive, with many items with up to 50% off. This year the sale includes designer items from Isabel Marant, Alexander McQueen, Markus Lupfer and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania. There are also great items from The Kooples, Diesel and a great pair of shoes from KG Kurt Geiger which are a spitting image of my all time favourite pair of shoes – the Carrie Bradshaw blue wedding shoe…

It’s time for the Clarks sale
It has always seemed rather crazy to me that just as a season is really starting, we seem to be in sale mode. But such is the nature of fashion that we are always looking ahead to the next season’s style and trends, and to the next big thing. And so, as we hit the first week of really lovely summer weather, Clarks launch their Summer sale, with reductions of up to 50% in all departments. The Clarks Summer season range for 2014 has been a particularly lovely one, and many of the designs I have champtioned throughout the season are now appearing in the sale with some great savings.…

Wallis Blue Lace Shift Dress reviewed
My next review in my ‘life begins at 40’ series is the dress I actually wore for my birthday celebrations yesterday. It was gifted by one of my favourite brands, Wallis, and came in a stunning deep blue shade that my mom has long exclaimed to be ‘my colour’. The blue lace shift dress is a gorgeously vibrant 60s style frock. It has a double layer effect, with a sort of crocheted lace top layer, and then a stretchy block underlayer. With no buttons or zips, this is a style you simply put over your head, and the nature of the fabric means no ironing is required – making this…

Fashion Focus – Jumpsuits from Dorothy Perkins
In the same way that the maxi dress was rescued from it’s Laura Ashley style 70s obscurity, and is now a definite wardrobe staple, the jumpsuit now seems here to stay. I can still remember the 1980s versions, boiler suits, parachute suits that seemed to be more suited to a flying lesson or working in a factory than actually being a fashion item. Early 1980s Scottish Songstress Kelly Marie seemed to have one perfectly glued to her body, and that was more than enough reason not to be wearing them. But how times change. The jumpsuit is now a super practical and much loved part of the wardrobe, and is…
