The Kardashian collection has arrived at Dorothy Perkins

    November 8, 2012 /

Today’s the day when one of the most anticipated High Street collaborations ever arrives in stores. The Kardashian collection, designed by Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, is now available from selected Dorothy Perkins stores and online. I must admit that I am really excited about this collection. The Kardashian sisters are known for their deeply glamorous appearance, with Kim in particular feted as a modern-day goddess of beauty. But what is also interesting about these girls is that they encompass a whole range of body types. Kim is, of course, petite in statue and curvy in body, with the ultimate derriere. Khloe is gorgeously curvy and 5ft 10 inches tall, meaning…

    Seventies chunky heels at Spartoo

    February 3, 2012 /

The Seventies trend shows no sign of disappearing. The recent SAG awards saw Angelina Jolie, Tilda Swinton and Rose Byrne all embrace 1970s trends in dress. But what about shoes? I personally adore the variety of shoe styles available from the 1970s. By this, I’m not talking Noddy Holder or Ziggy Stardust type shoes, but the stacked heeled, cork heeled sexy platforms that were usually in natural colours like tan and browns. These were shoes that have stood the test of time, and are still worn to great effect by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel.   I have recently discovered the French shoe stylist Spartoo.…

    The MTV Fashion VMAS

    August 30, 2011 /

Any MTV awards seem to promise a wide range of interesting looks – some  amazing, some not so. This Sunday’s awards were dominated by the news of Beyoncé’s pregnancy,  Lady Gaga turning up as her alter-ego – a man named Jo, and Katie Perry wearing four different outfits – everyone bad! Here are some  of the looks I really liked..and a few I didn’t. Beyoncé looked beautiful in a sari style dress by Lanvin. This reminded me of the green dress that JLo once worn to the Oscars, and I think it screamed style and elegance whilst covering that little baby bump. The colour looked great on her, and I…

How can one dress look so different – Pippa Middleton and Lindsey Lohan

    August 26, 2011 /

Kim Kardashian got married last weekend, and amongst all the chatter about the three wedding dresses, the black and white theme and the multitude of famous celebrity guests,  one topic seemed to stand out. Was Lindsey Lohan wearing Pippa Middleton‘s dress? Now of course, I don’t mean Pippa’s actual dress – that would just be plain silly. But the car crash that is Lindsey Lohan was actually wearing a version of Pippa’s full length green evening dress, the one she had worn for the evening reception at Buckingham Palace on the Royal Wedding day. And boy, did the dress look different on Lindsey. For a start, the Alice Temperley dress as…

Kim Kardashian and Vera Wang – a marriage made in fashion heaven.

    August 17, 2011 /

Following the royal brides (Kate, Zara and Charlene), the rock royalty brides (Kate, Lily), the film royalty brides(Reese), we now await the reality tv royalty bride, the very beautiful Kim Kardashian. Kim is plighting her troth on Saturday to her beau, New Jersey Nets star Kris Humphries. And who else would America’s top reality tv star choose to  create her dress but the true queen of bridal couture Vera Wang? Kim is one of the most beautiful women on TV at the moment, and there is no doubt she will make a stunning bride. But what sort of dress will she plump for? Could we look for clues in the…
