Leighton Meester for Nelly
She is the gorgeous style icon who starred in one of the most talked about ‘fashion-forward’ TV programmes of all time. She is also the lady who has just married Seth Rogan aka Adam Brody. And now she is sharing her fashion expertise in a newly launched range for Scandinavian fashion giant Nelly. Yes, it could only be that fabulous Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester. The Leighton Meester collection for Nelly launched yesterday, and is full of pieces you could well imagine being part of Leighton’s own wardrobe. A cool mixture of classic and more edgy pieces, Leighton has combined trends like leather and skin flashing cut outs, with a range…

Finding Online Bespoke deals and discounts
Unlike the High Street, where sales tend to be seasonal (and often full of rubbish and damaged goods to be honest) there always seems to be a decent sale or discount offer happening somewhere on the internet. Top High Street Stores offer huge savings and one day promotions where you can grab yourself a bargain, but you have to know what is happening and when, as these are often limited to just a few days. That is why Barclaycard Bespoke Offers is a great site to bookmark and join. Bespoke offers is a new service from Barclaycard where you can find offers that are bespoke for you. You don’t need…

Sainsbury’s launch ‘Love You Assets’ by Spanx
At the end of last year, Sainsbury’s launched a new shapewear collection with the ultimate experts in this field, Spanx. The collection promised to offer body-shaping solutions to women of all shapes and sizes, enabling the wearer to both look and feel body confident. The collection has been designed by Spanx’s Queen of Shapewear, Sara Blakeley, and I was really excited by the opportunity to try some of the pieces from the collection. I freely admit to wearing shapewear. I am most definitely in the plus size category when it comes to clothes, and my key problem area is my stomach. I always carried weight here, even when I was…

Reviewed – Power Rangers Toys from Bandai Toys
Power Rangers were a toy phenomenon of the 1990s, coming hot on the heels of the popular TV programme that enthralled a whole generation of youngsters. It was popular, bright and colourful, and sometimes controversial, but nobody would’ve believed that it would still be a massive ‘toy and TV’ story more than twenty years later. But this is most certainly the case. I have a five-year old son who has been obsessed with Power Rangers Megaforce since he met a similarly obsessed boy on his first day in nursery. It is one of their fave playground games, they chose their characters and scenarios, and use their imaginations to create their…

Reviewed – Moon on a Rainbow Shawl at The Rep
Last night I was privileged to watch an astounding piece of theatre. ‘Moon on a Rainbow Shawl’, a 1957 play by Errol John is currently having a revival, touring nationwide in a production by the Talawa Theatre. I caught the opening night at Birmingham Repertory theatre and was thoroughly enthralled by what was an epic production. The play is set in the mid 1950s in Port of Spain, Trinidad, and all the action is confined to a yard containing poor tenement housing. We meet a host of characters, the downtrodden Mrs Adams, who works day and night, married to Charlie, a man who was once an inspirational sporting hero, but…
