Disney on Ice – Let’s Party!
Wednesday saw the premiere night for the latest Disney on Ice Show ‘Let’s Party’, at the Birmingham LG Arena. With my Mickey Mouse crazy son and gorgeous niece in tow, we headed out to the LG Arena to catch the show, and enjoy a very special VIP meeting with the great man and his lovely lady. (I’m talking of Mickey and Minnie of course!) Disney on Ice shows are always something special, and this one proved to be no exception. The show was a lively mixture of songs and ice dance illustrating all the special celebrations that take place throughout the year, from birthdays, Valentine’s day, holidays and Halloween, right up…

Christmas is coming to Hotel La Tour
Hotel La Tour is the newest must visit destination in Birmingham. A stunning, ultra modern, landmark building on the Brummie skyline, Hotel La Tour offers a beautiful setting for luxurious dining. So I was very excited last week when I received an invite from my lovely friend and fellow blogger Emily Jayne to sample their latest afternoon tea offering which promised a real taste of Christmas. It was the coldest and windiest day imaginable last Thursday, but Hotel La Tour soon raised the spirits – it was in the middle of being decorated for Christmas and looked simply beautiful, like those gorgeous New York hotels you always see in festive…

V festival – a sea of dresses
Maybe it’s because the weather has been ‘too darn hot’ in the inimitable words of Ann Miller, but amidst the usual parade of denim and hotpants, there were a lot of very pretty dresses on display at the V festival this last weekend. There were maxi dresses, midi dresses, gorgeous vintage print tea dresses and even some candy stripes courtesy of Sophie Ellie Bexter. This was a true taste of summer, and the style that I love most – feminine, girly, but grunged up a little with some boots and shaggy hair. Top glamour marks must go to Billie Piper, who looked glorious in her Ossie Clark style maxi –…

Hackney Weekend featuring Lana Del Rey, Florence, Rihanna and Jessie J
Well, the festivals have truly started, and the best dressed ladies in music are making their mark with some very different styles. Lana Del Rey, Rita Ora, Florence Welch, Rihanna and Jessie J have all made appearances over the last weekend at Hackney Weekend, approaching festival dressing in their own inimitable style. My favourite was the gorgeous Lana Del Rey, who seems to get more like Nancy Sinatra with every sighting. She took to the stage at Hackney a week after her appearance at Lovebox, defining her as one of the faces of Summer 2012. Here are what some of the ladies have been wearing, and some ideas for getting…

Take your festival inspiration from Next…and Kate Middleton
Festival season in the UK starts today in typically British style, wet and windy. We can look at all those wonderful Coachella posts where the stars look fabulous in their sundresses, hot pants and flip-flops, but the reality is, we should be looking a little bit closer to home for our festival inspiration. Last weekend Kate Middleton wore what I think is actually the perfect British festival outfit. Taking some time under canvas, she opted for wellies, a Burberry shirt, teamed with Zara Jeans and a v neck sweater. She then wore a leather waistcoat that had a slight bodywarmer style that provided an extra layer of warmth. This looked…
