May Outfit Post
I absolutely loved May. The weather started dreadfully – I was still wearing my winter coat, but then it became glorious and I spent a lot of time reading books in the garden (when I should’ve been working, but still!). May was also a busy month in my house, with two birthdays, end of the football season meaning presentation time, and quite a few date nights too. This post is some of the outfits I have worn this month. As ever, I try to avoid buying lots of new clothes, so this is a mixture of some new pieces, savyy charity shop finds (my fave being the Wallis dress that…

The season of the cold shoulder
One of the key fashion trends of Spring/Summer 2016 has been the bare shouldered look. Whether we are looking at strategic cutouts to give the cold shouldered look, or at full on Brigitte Bardot style, shoulders seem to be fashions new erogenous zone. This is a style that is everywhere, and works for both dresses and tops. Celebrity Inspiration Shoulder baring tops do not conform to one style or trend. They can be worn casually with jeans a la Olivia Palermo, or as a fashion-forward directional look like that worn by Solange. Boho, sexy or worn with dungarees, Bardot styles are possibly the perfect summer top, with a style that…

Seasonal Style at the Botanical Gardens
Last week I was a guest of Barques PR at a gorgeous afternoon of food, fizz and seasonal fashion. The Seasonal Style event, which is held annually at Birmingham’s beautiful Botanical Gardens, was a feast of the best fashion and beauty around, with a style presentation by the lovely Beth Goodrham, and beauty demonstrations by Bobbi Brown’s leading artist Amy Conway. Add into this a host of stalls with exhibitors including Pai Skincare, Rachel Simpson shoes and Jo Malone, and you have a most glamorous afternoon. The day started with champagne and a browse around the stalls. John Lewis was a supporter of the event, and representatives from the…

AmFar Gala at the Cannes Film Festival
Even amongst the glitz and glitter of the Cannes Film festival, the AmFar gala is very special, the most glamorous occasion of them all. The annual gala that is held by the Foundation for Aids Research has become a part of the Cannes Calendar, and, for fans of gorgeous frocks being worn by the cream of Hollywood and the world’s top models, this is total candy for the eyes. This year all eyes were on Katy Perry. Now, I am not a fan of Katy’s style in general, can never understand how a woman so pretty can get it so wrong on so many occasions. But in a dramatic red…

Outfit post – April
Yes, I know it is almost the end of May, but outfit posts are always something that I forget, and then suddenly remember, usually at four in the morning. So here we are looking back on the busy month of April, which started with a mini holiday, and ended with a couple of Theatre press nights. April was a month where the weather was changeable, hence the abundance of long sleeves, dresses which still needed to be teamed with tights, and the need for jackets and my trusty Primark khaki mac, which was first seen last month and has been a fabulous buy (already worn to death, so for £15…
