New Look embrace the Grunge Rock trend.
If you admire the style of grungy rock chicks like Agyness Deyn, Alice Dellal and Pixie Geldof, then New Look needs to be added to your style destination list. Channelling the style of those glam girls who always add a bit of a rock edge to their wardrobes, New Look has mixed midi and maxi skirts with brothel creeper brogues that keep the look to the grunge side of feminine. New Look say ‘Look to London style icon’s Pixie Geldof and Agyness Deyn for inspiration. VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul -The Best Dressed.
The VH1 Divas event always promises some interesting looks as the best and brightest ladies in music come together for one very special evening. Jesse J, Jennifer Hudson and Dolly Parton were at the event, but non of these lovely ladies made Fashion-Mommy’s best dressed list. Here are the ladies who caught my eye on the night. The launch of a new album, Lioness, which has skyrocketed straight to Number 1, the auction of the now iconic Disaya dress that was worn on the cover of Back to Black, and now the launch of the final collection for Fred Perry means the iconic singer is as much a part of the fashion/Music mainstream as she was at her height. The Disaya dress had been expected to sell for approximately £20,000,but in the event it went for more than…

Style Icon of the month – Lana Del Rey
Maybe she is a recreation, with newly inflated lips and a retro image. Frankly I don’t care. She has the most amazing voice and in Video Games, one of the best songs and videos of the year. She also has truly incredible personal style. I am of course talking about Lana Del Rey, who is my style icon for the month of November. Lana has an old-fashioned film starlet feel. Huge eyes and the most talked about lips of the moment are teamed with Brigitte Bardot/Claudia Cardinale lustrous hair. And then there’s the clothes. Lana describes herself as a ‘gangsta Nancy Sinatra’ and could well be her best judge. Her…
