Gifts through the post are sorted with Postboxed

We’ve all had a problem when we try to send a gift through the post. We choose the gift carefully, make sure we send it with plenty of time to get there, and also send it recorded so that it arrives safely. And then it happens, the recipient happens to be out on the day the postman arrives, and the gift ends up sitting in on a post office shelf, waiting to be collected. Somehow, that special occasion comes and goes without your gift being there to enjoy. Annoying isn’t it?

But fear not, there is now a wonderful solution that means that you can choose a gift and it will arrive on time, and be posted, even if your loved one is not home. Postboxed offers a service where they choose a specially curated range of gifts that will fit through the letterbox, even when they are gift wrapped. The gifts have been chosen from premium brands and sources, and they have choices that will suit both men, women and children.

The service is really easy to use. First you select your Letterbox Friendly Gift, you can then add a gift-note and delivery date on the shopping cart page. You fill in your recipients’s address and the gift is then sent First Class with the Royal Mail within one business day unless a later date has been requested.

I tried the service choosing a gift for my hubby Pete. I’m a huge fan of Alphabet Bags, loving the wit and humour of the brand, and I knew Pete would appreciate their man’s washbag, but wasn’t sure how this would fit into a box that would slip through the letterbox.

The gift arrived very quickly, within a day of being sent. I loved the Postboxed vintage style stamp on the box, it makes the present look very retro and cool.

Inside the box, the gift is beautifully gift wrapped in tissue paper. Being slightly bigger than the box, the bag had been carefully folded, but was easily reshaped once items were added to it.

With Mother’s Day and Easter both coming up in March, Postboxed is a great way to show a loved one you love them with a very special gift. With gifts from brands such as Azuni London (a Kate Middleton fave), Moleskine, Sloane Stationary and Ted Baker, you will be able to find the perfect gift for even those who are difficult to please. And it will be delivered on time too!

Nostalgia for Sweets with the Retro Sweet Company

If you are of a certain age, you may have a predilection for a certain kind of sweet. Drumstick lollipops, Refreshers, Cola Bottles, Parma Violets, Love Hearts, even those rather strange but still quite delicious Flying Saucers, the sweets of my youth were the ones you would have at the end of each day in the form of a 10p mix. You may have got these from a dedicated sweetshop, or, in my case, the local newsagents which had a really good selection, and they were most definitely something to look forward to at the end of the school day.

It is no surprise to me, that in these days when nostalgia is such big business, retro sweets are making a big comeback, and finding a new generation of fans. Retro Sweet, part of, has taken all those childhood favourites, along with the sorts of sweet my grandad used to love – Pear Drops and Licquorice, and has created wonderful hampers, sweetie jars and sweet boxes that are perfect gifts for birthdays, Father’s Day or as a Thank you present for teachers at the end of the school year.

Gorgeous Great British Sweet Collection.

I was sent a wonderful Lolly May Nostalgic Great British Sweets hamper specially designed for dad’s containing all the favourites I mentioned above. Beautifully presented in a lovely hamper that would make a pretty storage idea after the sweets have gone, the sweets are a blast from the 1970s and 1980s, and are sure to please any dad – if they ever reach him of course! There are over 24 varieties of old fashioned and retro sweets in the hamper, which is literally overflowing with sugary gorgeousness.

With the sweets not being out of date until any time between January 2016 to October 2017, there is no need to rush the enjoyment – you could put these into little bags to make your own version of the much loved 10p mix.

The Lolly May nostalgic hamper for dad cost £34.99 and is a real sweet treat!

iFlorist – beautiful blooms for Mother’s Day

Sunday 15th March sees the day that all mother’s look forward to, and dad’s have grown to dread. Yes, this Sunday, is Mother’s Day, and that means dad’s up and down the country will spend this weekend worrying about what to get their other half on behalf of their little darlings. They may spend Saturday trying to persuade their little ones that mommy really doesn’t want that giant teddy bear, or that rather ugly lustre ornament of a pink pig carrying flowers (I’m shuddering at the thought.) But I believe dad should just take some time out and relax, because when it comes to a Mother’s Day gift, sometimes it pays to stick to the simple and classic, and a gift of beautiful blooms from iFlorist totally fits the bill.

iFlorist are becoming a bit of a flower institution, using local florists throughout the UK in order to offer a flower delivery service to anywhere in the UK within a matter of hours. They offer a range of bouquets, arrangements, posies and baskets that use a beautiful selection of flowers. For Mother’s day this year, I think they have surpassed themselves with arrangements that range from the simple and elegant, to the ostentatious and flamboyant. An arrangement to suit the personality of every mother!

One of my personal favourites from this year’s collection is the ‘best mum ever trug’. This rustic style flower basket contains a lovely selection of flowers that include roses, pink gypsophila, spray carnations, chrysanthemums and veronica flower interspersed with sweet-smelling eucalyptus foliage. It looks so pretty with the mixture of pinks, a real Mother’s Day delight.

Another lovely selection is christened ‘motherly love’ and I think this collection would be great for a new mommy, with a single pink rose centred amongst baby pink germini, alstroemeria and spray carnations.

With some of the arrangements also available with free chocolates and a personalised greetings card, and also with many bouquets currently at very special Mother’s Day prices, iFlorist is a stress free choice for a present mom’s everywhere will love. Add in delivery all over Mother’s day weekend, including Mothering Sunday itself, and it is hard to think of any better present than the beautiful blooms of an iFlorist arrangement.
